FJC Training Academy

The FJC Training Academy offers extensive domestic violence training to the community, partner agencies, faith-based agencies, FJC staff, volunteers, and chaplains. 

Most FJC Training Academy Events are free of charge and can be offered at off-site locations as well.  To register for an event, simply visit the link below for online registration.

All training meet the guidlines for Hillsborough County's Child Care Licensing

in-service requirements.

This year's conference will feature Ret. Airforce Major General Susan Pamerleau.  As a survivor of domestic violence, Susan shares her story of strength, hope, and resilience with honesty and passion. Susan credits her therapist who was able to  recongnize the abuse and safety plan with her for her survival .

Workshop Cost:   Only $40! (which includes lunch, snack and CEU/CLE credits)

Conference Payment Options:  Credit Card or Personal Check  (Make checks payable to Family Justice Center)  Payment must be received in advance of the conference.

CEU/CLE Credits:  This training provides 7 CEU/ 8.5 CLER credits.  CEU and CLE credits are provided courtesy of the Family Justice Center of Hillsborough County . 

CEU's are approved for Florida Licensed Mental Health Providers, Licensed Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Psychologists, Limited License Psychologists and School Psychologists (Provider #50-7820 exp. 3/31/2011). 

8.5 general CLER credits (provider #0248564 exp. 4/22/2011).

“Nuts and Bolts” is a four part, 2 Day training on the basics of domestic violence advocacy. This training is offered to advocates, volunteers, clergy, and other community based providers who work with victims of domestic violence. “Nuts and Bolts” includes the courses FJC 101, FJC 201, FJC 301, and FJC 401 and covers topics including but not limited to dynamics of domestic violence, safety planning, lethality assessment, confidentiality, ethics, boundaries, working with diverse populations, dating violence, and effects of domestic violence on children and adolescents.

strategies and efforts seeking to change norms related to gendered violence.  

Norms will be examined with regard to their historical

context, distinct challenges, and opportunities for collaborative work.
